At Canfield Wrestling Club, we believe wrestling builds more than just athletes — it builds strong, respectful individuals. To create a positive and productive environment, we expect every wrestler and parent to follow these core expectations.
1. Be on time.
"On time" means early. Be ready before practice or meets start — dressed, focused, and respectful of others' time.
2. Always give full effort.
Try your best every time. We care more about effort, hustle, and growth than wins or losses.
3. Show respect.
Respect your coaches, teammates, opponents, officials, and yourself — during practice, matches, and at all times.
4. Be coachable.
Listen, learn, stay focused, and accept feedback. Wrestling requires discipline and a good attitude.
5. No bullying — ever.
We have zero tolerance for teasing, taunting, or negative behavior. Support your teammates, don’t tear them down.
6. Represent the club well.
Your behavior reflects on the team. We expect CWC wrestlers to act with integrity and maturity on and off the mat.
1. Respect coaches and volunteers.
Let coaches coach. Don’t shout instructions from the sidelines or criticize decisions during practice or matches.
2. Support all wrestlers.
Cheer for effort and improvement. Be a voice of encouragement for every child on the mat.
3. Demonstrate good sportsmanship.
No arguing with refs, opponents, or other parents. Keep it positive — always.
4. Communicate respectfully.
If you have concerns, talk privately with a coach or board member at an appropriate time — not during an event or in front of kids.
If a wrestler or parent violates these expectations, the club may issue warnings, suspend practice time, or remove the individual from the team. Our top priority is creating a safe, respectful environment for all.
